The Board of the Building and Construction Authority met for the first time after being reconstituted and appointed Architect Roderick Bonnici as the new Acting Chief Executive of the authority.
The Minister for Justice and Reform of the Construction Sector Jonathan Attard took the opportunity to meet the members of the board and wished the Architect Bonnici on the occasion of his appointment within this authority which increasingly continues to establish a stronger role in the construction sector.
“The appointment of Perit Bonnici is taking place at a time when a restructuring process will be carried out in the authority, in such a way that it continues to respond more effectively and fulfill the government’s commitment to continue raising standards in – the construction sector, in line with the electoral manifesto and with the recommendations of the public inquiry,” Minister Jonathan Attard said.
The Bonnic Architect, who was the head of the section that approves permit applications within the Building and Construction Authority, graduated in a Bachelor of Engineering and Architecture as well as qualified in a Masters in Management of Projects from the University of Malta.
He had already made a substantial contribution in the Office for Building Regulations in the Enforcement Section, within the authority and in the section that covered the avoidance of damage to third parties. Previously he also worked in the field of infrastructure with a public agency and also in the construction sector on private as well as public projects.
