The Interactive Science Centre of Esplora will be opening its doors for Carnival with the event Karta Festa. Details regarding this event were announced by Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation Keith Azzopardi Tanti and Esplora’s Senior Director, Olaf McKay.
The theme chosen for this edition of Karta Festa, which will take place between 10 and 14 February 2024, is paper, with different methods of recycling and upcycling, and being more sustainable in our use of paper. Esplora will be full of activities for the whole family, with those present having the opportunity to build and restore masks, among other activities related to Carnival.
Parliamentary Secretary Keith Azzopardi Tanti stressed on the importance of such events to keep alive our local culture and traditions that have been passed on from generation to generation. He stated that Esplora, apart from offering an enjoyable event for the entire family, is also providing additional information on measures to safeguard our environment.
“Esplora has been offering an interactive space for families where they can enjoy various exhibits and activities that bring them closer to STEM subjects, in this case incorporating art. Through this initiative we are also stressing on the importance of recycling paper material and reusing it,” concluded Parliamentary Secretary Azzopardi Tanti.
Senior Director of Esplora Olaf McKay said that, “Esplora is opening its doors to a vibrant and colourful Carnival experience. The activities planned are aimed to promote STEAM subjects within the community, whilst prompting the visitors’ creative streak and promoting a culture of scientific curiosity also during Carnival.”
Karta Festa will be open from the 10th and the 14th of February at Esplora Interactive Science Centre, Kalkara, between 10am and 5pm. More information can be accessed from this link: Karta Festa – Esplora.
