Wife of the Prime Minister, Dr Lydia Abela announced another edition of the ‘Gift with Love’ initiative. A project that, from a dream back in 2020, has today reached its fourth edition.
In Castile Square, next to the Christmas tree, Mrs. Abela together with her daughter Giorgia Mae and the people gathered followed with interest the performance given by the choir La Voix Studios; a choir that sang different songs and it was part of young Jake Vella’s dream to make a song together called “We make dreams come true.”
In this context, Dr Abela thanked all the children who form part of this choir under the direction of Gillian Attard.
“Really brave children full of talent. I strongly believe in the artistic and creative talent of our children. Whether singing or art, every talent expresses the dreams of our children and fosters such beautiful values in them. This music video that we have just seen gives life to the altruistic values that we embrace as Maltese and Gozitans,” said the Prime Minister’s wife.
There were thousands of Maltese and Gozitan families and businesses who in previous years welcomed the invitation of Dr. Lydia Abela and Giorgia Mae and left gifts for the children under the Christmas tree in Pjazza Kastilja.
“I confess that I never knew that ‘Rigal bi Mhabba’ back in 2020 would grow into an annual event that is celebrated by hundreds of Maltese and Gozitan families. As was done last year, this edition will have the involvement of all localities and for the first time with the participation of talented children who are cheering on other children,” said Dr Abela.
Mrs. Abela said that this initiative is also one of the most dear to her heart. “I say this because I see in her a genuine joy and smile on all the children of Malta and Gozo. An initiative that does not forget anyone. The families and businesses that participated in the previous editions were in the thousands. Definitely not maybe that for this year’s edition I look forward to seeing the same level of participation and activism. From an initiative like this I realize how much the Maltese and the Gowis have in their hearts the social value in our country, that the most vulnerable among us will also have the chance to rejoice with a Christmas present,” stated the wife of the Prime Minister.
The gifts under the Christmas tree in Pjazza Castilja will be able to start being placed from the 12th of December onwards with the culmination of the initiative reaching its closure on the 21st of December.
“Just as the previous editions were successful in closing the campaign, I am also inviting all families to join us on December 21 for a day full of activities with a Christmas Village,” pointed out Dr. Abela .
For the first time the Christmas Village will be spread over two days ie between the 20th and 21st of December. On the 20th of December a concert will be held by the band of the Armed Forces of Malta.
Mrs. Abela concluded by thanking all the Disciplinary Forces who helped from start to finish in the distribution of thousands of gifts in previous years and will do the same this year.
“Many of these people choose a career like this with the aim of improving the lives of others and being present to help those in need. That’s exactly what ‘Gift with Love’ symbolizes: to be present for everyone and to cheer everyone up in the most beautiful time of the year. Committed that we will do this with everyone’s strength,” concluded Dr. Abela.
