A man lost his life after getting into difficulties while diving off Manoel Island police said.
In a statement police said they received a report of a diver needing help in the area of Manoel Island.
When officers arrived at the scene they found that the diver had been brought ashore by people who were nearby. A medical team provided immediate assistance before the man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital. Sadly, the man, identified as a 44-year-old Russian, died shortly afterwards.
