A new collective agreement has been signed between the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage and the General Workers’ Union. The new agreement will see Superintendence employees benefit from increased salaries, measures aimed at providing work/life balance and other benefits. The signing was presided over by Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici.
Minister Bonnici explained how this collective agreement is an important step in strengthening professions in the cultural heritage sector, a sector which is important for our country’s identity. “With this new collective agreement, we are not only providing an improved financial package, but we are also encouraging career progression to the current employees, as well as providing the necessary incentives to future employees”, Minister Bonnici said.
Also present for the signing of the new collective agreement were Kurt Farrugia, Superintendence of Cultural Heritage CEO and Elizabeth Vassallo, Director Support Services.
