A new center for S.T.E.A.M subjects was inaugurated. at Maria Regina College, St Paul’s Bay Primary, which is equipped with equipment and all the necessary resources to give students a hands-on education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.
This center was built with funds from the citizenship by investment program, administered by Komunita Malta. The center was inaugurated by the Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima and the Minister for the Interior, Security, Reforms and Equality, Byron Camilleri.
During the inauguration Minister Grima stated, “In these days I had several occasions during which I spoke about complete and innovative education so that the student enjoys learning with all the opportunities we can offer. We must continue to work to not only educate, but we do this in a way that the student enjoys receiving the learning that our educators give with so much dedication and determination.”
While thanking the educators for their commitment, Minister Grima took the opportunity and invited all educators to be participative in the consultations that will be held with them to draw up the Education Strategy 2024-2030.
Minister Byron Camilleri said that in the last two years the Community Malta agency has given funds for various social and educational initiatives with a total of more than two million euros. He continued that, “Through this project, the children are enjoying and learning at the same time, in an environment that is more focused on the use of technology, science and art and through it they can they continue to roam. Committed that as Aġenzija Komunitaria Malta and also as a government we will continue to invest in such initiatives and that the children will really benefit from them.”
Minister Camilleri ended by showing his satisfaction that through funds from this program, tangible projects are being made that are having an impact in the communities, including on the learning and development of children.
Meanwhile, in the educational system importance is being given to S.T.E.A.M. subjects, which are not only important subjects, but are the basis of various careers. Through this center, the educators train the students in these subjects fully, because it also includes practice and interactive activities that help in learning these subjects in a creative way. The knowledge of S.T.E.A.M. is putting before the student challenges that must be addressed through thinking and creative skills. It is also important because the student is given an early knowledge of the digital world.
