A statement published by the Opposition earlier today does not reflect the facts as they really are.
In a statement the Opposition tried to give the impression that a €12 million private project that will be carried out on private land will be carried out on public land or in an area that is virgin land. It also turns out that this is a project that already has planning permits.
The part of the allocation that the Government submitted for Parliament’s approval is part of a road that is no longer in use today, other than an open space. This will in fact continue to be used as a road that gives access after this investment is made.
The Government has also already made it clear that the mill there will not be touched and will remain the property of the Government with free and public access all around it. This mill will be guarded.
The Government took this step to help private investment with the greatest transparency through a parliamentary process. This is with the aim of supporting private investment, in this case in an area already built, and continue to increase employment.
