Thousands of ambulance workers in England and Wales are going on strike today over pay as talks with the health minister fail to materialize.
Health Secretary Steve Barclay said there is no more money available and the government advice is for people “to take care”.
Members of the armed forces have been drafted in to help during the walkout.
The country is already struggling as train, underground and bus services are hit by strike action. Ports and airports are also feeling the pinch as border force staff also demand more pay.
Postal workers are also striking over the Christmas period.
