| The monkeypox outbreak is now a global health emergency, the World Health Organization has announced.
The label – a “public health emergency of international concern” – is the maximum alert possible. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the head of the World Health Organisation, said the risk globally is “moderate”, except in Europe where it is “high”. |
