After a two-year absence, the Nadur Spontaneous Carnival will return with the exception that this edition will be a special one, as it will take place in May.
The Nadur Spontaneous Carnival is renowned for the fertility of the imagination of all who take part in it.
At the launch of this event, the Minister for Gozo, Clint Camilleir, expressed his satisfaction that this very popular event will be held again. “Nadur Carnival is a traditional one where it spontaneously takes us back in time and shows us how in the past Carnival was a way to have fun and convey its message through satire,” said the Minister. Camilleri.
Minister Clint Camilleri said that the days of the Carnival in Gozo will always be sought after by both locals, Maltese and tourists. “I wish that as in previous editions, this edition also attracts a large crowd to the village of Nadur to celebrate together in an atmosphere of joy these three days associated with the carnival”, said the Minister for Gozo.
Minister Camilleri praised the commitment of the Nadur Local Council to take care of the whole process necessary for the success of this mass activity, and more than that, it will be done with the least possible inconvenience to the residents. The Minister reminded that everyone should have fun responsibly and with full respect for the law.
Edwar Said, the Mayor of Nadur, said that Nadur is synonymous with this carnival which has now become an integral part of the rich cultural calendar that Gozo has to offer. Mr Said expressed satisfaction that the spontaneous carnival would once again take place in the heart of the village, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
Mayor Said thanked the Minister for Gozo for both financial and logistical support for the launch of this special edition and wished that, as in previous editions, it was once again a success.
The Nadur Spontaneous Carnival will take place on Friday the 20th, Saturday the 21st, and Sunday the 22nd of May after sunset.
