“This agreement is also being made in the context of many changes being made to the newly inaugurated Occupational Therapy Unit facility in St. Vincent de Paul.
As part of the Geriatric Care Center inaugurated a few weeks ago in St. Vincent de Paul, an Occupational Therapy Unit has now been inaugurated with an investment of around one million euros.
The Minister for the Elderly and Active Aging Michael Farrugia inaugurated this center in a press conference during which he mentioned that this is another investment from a series of projects that over the last few years we are seeing implemented in San Vincent de Paul.
Minister Michael Farrugia said that the government is investing in facilities that are centered around the needs of the residents so that they can live in a more comfortable and familiar environment. He said that this is an investment that despite the pandemic, the government has not lagged behind and has continued to promote the interests of our seniors.
He mentioned among others the Narcissus project, the Rosary Briffa Center, which incorporates the Geriatric Care Center, a number of consulting clinics, the first digital X-ray department as well as the addition in the number of beds in the wards, the first therapeutic swimming pool, gym and new staff offices.
Minister Farrugia said that these projects show that the investment being made in our elderly is not only in the infrastructure but also in the services we are offering, accessible services that vary according to the dependence of each elderly person.
“In addition, as you can see, we have also thought about improving the workplace environment for our workers, where today, professionals have excellent facilities to be able to offer the best service, care and support for the elderly ”.
“This is a new state-of-the-art complex where professional services will be provided in the care of our elderly so that we can ultimately continue to ensure that the elderly have the best care we can give them,” concluded Minister Farrugia.
