President George Vella acknowledged the invaluable work done by the Caritas Malta Epilepsy Association since its establishment in 1996.
The President said this during the launch of a book presenting this association’s work over the last 25 years. The President stated that everyone involved in the association during these years deserves our praise and gratitude for all the support given to the people suffering from this condition.
The President added that the Epilepsy Association first wanted to educate, and then it helped reduce the stigma that can come with the condition, whilst maintaining constant contact with medical experts and, above all, showing in a practical way how to help these patients at crucial moments in their lives.
The President noted the work done by the association to dispel misconceptions about this condition, a condition which condemned patients to great affliction during their lifetime.
The President encouraged all those working in this field to, as has been the case so far, continue giving patients the best medicine of all, that of love.
