Captain Andrei Agius retires from the National Team

Malta National Team Captain Andrei Agius has announced his retirement from the National Team during a press conference that was held today at the Centenary Hall.

Andrei Agius was born on the 12th of August 1986 and had a very colourful career.

Agius made his first appearance for the Malta National Team on the 25.02.2006 vs Moldova (Malta Int Tournament, 0-2).  He played 102 times for the National Team and scored 6 goals.

Career

Agius made his debut in the Premier League on 19.12.2003 with Sliema Wanderers (vs Floriana, 2-0).  He currently plays for Hibernians and has done so since season 2014/15.  Agius played both in Malta and abroad for the following teams:
