With an investment of around € 250,000 and works carried out by the Department of Public Works, the Żebbuġa community will be enjoying another open space located in Triq il-Mitħna in Żebbuġ. It was inaugurated by the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg during a press conference held in this same street.
Minister Ian Borg opened his speech by mentioning how such community projects are as important as the major investments being made across our country. He praised the Department of Public Works for the work it is carrying out across our country with projects ranging from national ones such as Malta National Park to such community projects through which communities are benefiting from a better quality of life.
“Through these projects we are looking to beautify our localities, we offer spaces where parents together with their children can spend their free time but more importantly we are reassuring the parents whose children are playing in spaces that are equipped with the best security. This space was left in a state of disrepair and with many problems. Thus, we felt the need to intervene. We have risen to the challenge, we have found a solution, we have worked and today we are here to inaugurate another high quality open space. We are committed to maintaining our commitment to ensuring that all of our communities benefit from the spaces and environment they truly deserve. ”
The Department of Public Works has carried out a number of works in this open space including the addition of recreational areas with a view to meeting different ages, infrastructure and leveling works, a rainwater management system. , planting trees, lighting installation, a number of new benches and a bicycle parking area.
