Prime Minister Robert Abela visited the Basecamp facility in the building of the Malta Business Register. Over 757 square meters of state-of-the-art space, this new facility will help further increase work in the field of video gaming and sports. Another step that continues to materialize the government’s strategy for this sector, aiming to see 2,500 new workers in the next decade. Basecamp, with an investment of € 1.7 million, will be accommodating 10 distinct studio spaces of different sizes operated by Gaming Malta, with the aim of continuing to roam start-ups and established companies in the field of gaming. While Basecamp will provide office space with subsidized schemes, it will also be running a program of workshops aimed at raising awareness in the field of gaming, developing strong networking between companies and delivering access to enhanced communication among industries and investors in this sector. Basecamp will also serve as a center for events, a consultation in the field of gaming and a one-stop-shop for those operating in this sector that is constantly expanding and growing in our country.
