BioNTech/Pfizer pledges up to 75 million extra vaccine doses to EU

BioNTech will provide up to 75 million more vaccine doses to the EU in the second quarter of 2021.

The CEO of the company said it would accelerate deliveries of the coronavirus vaccine it developed with the American firm Pfizer to the bloc.

President of the EU Commission Ursula con der Leyen tweeted: ” We are working with pharmaceutical companies to ensure vaccines are delivered to Europeans. BioNTech/@pfizer will deliver 75 million of additional doses in the second quarter of the year – and up to 600 millions in total in 2021″.
