The sport of Tai Chi will be offered free of charge to everyone

Parliamentary Secretary for Sport, Recreation and Voluntary Organizations Clifton Grima announced that the sport of Tai Chi will be offered online for free through a collaboration between SportMalta and local councils.

While thanking Tai Chi Malta for the work they are doing, the parliamentary secretary said that through this collaboration, sport will be getting closer to the community. He mentioned how SportMalta was proactive during the pandemic as it started providing its sports programs online. Thanks to such initiatives people are having more opportunity to do physical exercise.

Finally, Clifton Grima spoke about how SportMalta is working on the professional athlete and how in the coming weeks a record investment will be announced which will be invested in individual athletes.

The Chairman of SportMalta Luciano Busuttil, said that this is a good initiative which increases the physical activity in the country. At the time of the pandemic, when sport was at a standstill, SportMalta hired 35 professional coaches to provide online physical training. This time, the initiative will reach the community thanks to the cooperation with the local councils, where SportMalta will be paying all the costs related to the Tai Chi lessons online so that anyone who wants to can exercise for free.
