In a news conference with the theme Quality Country, the Minister for Health and Active Aging Jo Etienne Abela announced an investment of €14 million to increase the outsourcing service in favor of the patient.
Minister Jo Etienne Abela stressed that this is another important measure that was announced in the 2025 Budget as for next year there will be an increase in the budget associated with the outsourcing of health services, where €14 have been allocated million. “Through this investment, apart from making sure that we maximize our resources in Mater Dei, in the Gozo Hospital, in San Vincenzo and also soon in the Moran Census, we are seeing a further increase in the a number of sessions in the hours outside the normal hours in various departments and this will also be extended to the operations,” Minister Abela explained.
Minister Abela went on to explain that through this record investment they will also see the outsourcing of services for radiology interventions such as CT scans, MRI scans, as well as for interventions such as hernia operations, of -bones, joints, shoulder, eyes, knee and hip replacements, among others. He claimed that this will be done in collaboration between the Government and the private sector. “This strong investment bodes well for the continuous work that the Government is doing in favor of health services in our country. This investment continues to clearly show how much the Government is really investing in people,” concluded Minister Abela.
