Social housing project in Tac-Cawla in Gozo is about to be completed

The Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri, together with the Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes, visited the social housing project in the area known as Tac-Cawla, in Rabat Gozo.

Minister Camilleri claimed that the work related to the construction of eight apartments and their completion was finished before the end of the year, as promised. “We are now ensuring that the soft areas of the area are given the attention they deserve, so that we have kept our word with the surrounding residents and the prospective tenants who will benefit from these eight apartments new and of the best level,” pointed out Minister Camilleri.

“This is another testament to the social soul of this Government that apart from the unprecedented social aids that have been given Budget after Budget, in a few more weeks we will be offering these modern, accessible apartments that respect the – environment, to eight other families,” said Minister Camilleri.

The Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes stated that this social housing project will continue to be a shoulder for those individuals who need help and support from the State.

The Minister explained that through this project, which is at an advanced stage, the Housing Authority will continue to help more families become beneficiaries of this social project, a project that continues to raise the quality of the life of the same individuals.

The regeneration project of the Tac-Cawla area is being carried out on an area of ​​land of 3,750 square meters. 330 square meters of them, that is 9% of the existing space, will be dedicated to social housing. In the rest of the space, that of three acres, is being generated with a playing field, outdoor gyms, a recreational area with water features as well as extensive landscaping.

This project has ensured that no tree will be lost, on the contrary, more native trees will be planted in the area.
