After beating SP Tre Penne 3-1 in the first leg on Thursday, Floriana will be aiming to avoid defeat in San Marino on Thursday as they play the second leg of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League at the San Marino Stadium, kick-off at 20:45.
Despite being clearly the better side, the Greens conceded a goal early in the second half but were quick to turn the score in their favour with three goals thanks to Kyrian Nwoko, Dunstan Vella and Thiaguinho Santos to take a two-goal lead ahead of the second leg.
The team which emerges as winner from this tie will be facing Portuguese side Vitória SC, better known as Vitória de Guimarães.
Floriana qualified for a second round for the first time in 1993 when they had eliminated Ekranas of Lithuania but were then eliminated by Porto in the Champions League. On the other hand, in 2020, they lost to CFR Cluj in the first qualifying round of the Champions League and after eliminating Linfield in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, they were eliminated by Flora Tallinn on penalties in the third qualifying round.
