Eleven employees of the Land Authority received a certificate of recognition after successfully completing a study course in Sustainable Land Management organized in collaboration with the University of Malta.
The Minister for Lands and the Implementation of the Electoral Program Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi praised the initiative of the Lands Authority to invest in training its employees and stated that the training is a process that should continue throughout life.
Minister Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi spoke about the central role played by the Land Authority that manages land in our country. He also mentioned that apart from the role of managing the land, collecting money from rents, and issuing tenders when there is land that needs to be disposed of, it also has the role of ensuring the sustainability of its operation.
“I believe that the Authority should continue to invest more in the training of employees to improve its processes and make them more efficient and at the same time attract more employees to it,” said the minister, while thanking the Authority for – the initiative taken by the University of Malta and Professor Maria Attard with whose collaboration this training could be organized.
The Authority’s Chief Executive Officer Robert Vella also spoke about the importance of training for the Authority’s employees.
Also present was the Chairperson of the Board of the Authority Dr. John Vassallo and Professor Maria Attard from the University of Malta who coordinated the training course.
