The necessary preparations have begun for a new multi-millionaire Inspire project, called the Stubbs Centre, which will help this association continue to serve people with disabilities in a better way while providing new facilities and services.
This project was announced by the CEO of Inspire, Antonello Gauci, in the presence of the Minister for Inclusion and Volunteering, Julia Farrugia Portelli, who was given details about this project.
The Stubbs Center project will consist of accessible spaces equipped with the necessary technology to provide educational, recreational, therapeutic as well as social learning. This center will be offering a number of new programs, including a program for independent living, a specialized daycare center, programs to help adults with disabilities enter the world of work as well as a respite center. In addition, current programs will also be expanded.
At present, Inspire operates from Bulebel and Għajnsielem in Gozo. This voluntary association also offers services and facilities from Marsaskala, where a number of services are offered such as the use of the heated swimming pool, therapy through horses and other animals, multisensory rooms, among other therapeutic spaces that currently make use of them more by 1,700 people of different ages and abilities.
Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli praised the priceless good that this union is doing in the lives of many people and their relatives. “We want to continue to see top level investment in the disability sector. This is why as a Government we will not only continue to increase aid and schemes in favor of people with disabilities, but we will continue to offer our absolute support in favor of organizations like Inspire,” concluded the minister.
The CEO of Inspire mentioned that in this last year, the organization reached important goals. “It is gratifying that through help and collaborations with different entities, including governmental, private and other voluntary ones, Inspire can continue to move forward to offer more services with the aim of improving the quality of the life of those who are benefiting from her work,” concluded Mr. Gauci.
The Head of the Inspire Services Section, Laura Sue Armeni, emphasized on the social impact that a project of this kind will have, and how many more people will be directly helped with these services and the -new facilities. For her part, the Head of Finance, Giovanna Mirabile, explained that this project has been planned for many years and that it has now reached the stage of being carried out.
Finally, the date of the fundraising marathon called ‘Inspire Bżonnok’, which will be broadcast on August 4 between 11am and 11pm on local television stations, has also been announced. with the purpose of raising funds for this same project.
