In Zaragoza, in Spain, the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights, Anton Refalo, visited the leading international institute for advanced agricultural studies (CIHEAM). The visit aimed to further strengthen the existing relationship between Malta and CIHEAM Zaragoza, while exploring new avenues for collaboration in the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors.
During this visit an agreement was signed between Malta and CIHEAM Zaragoza which will pave the way for strong cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including research, development, training, and the exchange of -knowledge.
After the signing ceremony, Minister Refalo met with representatives from the agro-industrial sector of the Aragon region in Spain. The discussions focused on the identification of mutually beneficial partnerships that could contribute to the growth and development of the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors of both regions.
Minister Anton Refalo stated, “This visit and the agreement we signed will significantly strengthen Malta’s ties with CIHEAM Zaragoza and the Aragonese region. Through this collaboration there will be an exchange of knowledge and best practices that should lead to a more sustainable agricultural sector for both Malta and Spain”.
