The Labour Party has won the majority of first choice votes in the 2024 European Parliament election but at a cost.
The winning margin is reckoned to have shrunk drastically, with predictions running around 10,000, though this figure has not been confirmed. A massive drop from the 42,000 majority of 2019.
The official final vote count has yet to be announced.
