President calls for people not to give in to provocation

President Myriam Spiteri Debono has called for everyone in Malta and Gozo to keep a cool head and not allow themselves to be provoked in the coming days.
Referring to speeches by the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition, she said it that both of them have a common thread in these speeches. In their speeches, the Prime Minister as well as the Leader of the Opposition encouraged the followers not to fall for provocation in the coming days.
I repeat the appeal I already made a few days ago that the judicial processes are allowed to proceed peacefully. Our laws guarantee and safeguard the rights of those who are being processed. In addition to this, our judges, over time, apart from the deep knowledge of the laws they employ, have proven their loyalty and respect for the laws of our country and have shown that they are capable of being impartial.
The President’s message comes ahead of the court appearance of former prime minister Joseph Muscat on Tuesday 28th May and former Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne on Wednesday 29th May.
