Signing of a Sectoral Agreement for the Detention Services Agency workers

The Sectoral Agreement for the Detention Services Agency workers has been successfully signed following the approval of negotiations between the GWU Disciplinary Forces, Security and Law Enforcement Officers Section and the Agency.

The Collective Agreement aims to further enhance the working conditions and rights of the Detention Services Agency workers, thereby supporting their career development within the organization.

Section Secretary Theo Vella expressed satisfaction with the successful negotiation of the Agreement for the next five years, highlighting the importance of workers’ union representation and expressing gratitude to all involved parties for their collaboration.

The signing of the Agreement involved key representatives including GWU Secretary of the Disciplinary Forces, Security and Law Enforcement Officers Section Theo Vella, shop steward Christian Testa, Detention Services Agency CEO Kyle Mifsud, and Elaine Galdes, Senior Manager, Corporate Services.

The event was attended by the General Secretary of the GWU Josef Bugeja, Minister for Home Affairs, Security and Employment Byron Camilleri, as well as other government officials and workers’ representatives.
