In the week dedicated to mental health awareness, the Minister for Health and Active Aging Jo Etienne Abela inaugurated a center that will be offering a number of seminars related to mental health and the well-being of nurses and the midwives.
It was explained how the MUMN and the Ministry for Health and Active Aging reached an agreement to collaborate together and start holding these types of seminars that train and protect the mental health and well-being of professionals.
Minister Jo Etienne Abela explained that around 4,200 people will be attending these seminars and how through these seminars they will be offering help to professionals. He stressed that these seminars will be important and will be helping professionals with the situations they encounter on a daily basis.
“Through this collaboration we will see that the professionals are trained and given help where necessary to protect their mental health. This is part of the government’s vision when it comes to mental health where we are making sure that we also protect the mental health of our professionals who are very important for the care services they offer to Maltese and Gozitans,” concluded the minister.
