The renovation project at Dar il-Mistrieħ in Floriana has been completed

Minister Jo Etienne Abela and Parliamentary Secretary Malcolm Paul Agius Galea announced that the extensive renovation project at Dar il-Mistrieħ in Floriana has been completed with an investment of around €828,000.
It was explained how Dar il-Mistrieħ has been providing care to the elderly for more than 35 years. This modernization work was carried out so that this Home continues to offer the elderly residents a better quality of life and that they continue to live with dignity and independence. This project, which was also done with the help of funds from the Welfare Committee, was not only aimed at addressing the infrastructural challenges, but also to strengthen the safe environment where the well-being of the residents improves significantly.
The project included strengthening the infrastructure and amenities. A multidisciplinary clinic was also introduced, equipped with specialized medical equipment. This facility will ensure that all residents receive holistic and personalized care in a private and dignified environment.
Minister Jo Etienne Abela stressed how this Home will not only be offering a safer environment for the residents but also thanks to the introduction of the multidisciplinary clinic, the elderly will be able to receive specialized care in the same residence without discharge. The Minister went on to say that apart from the extensive renovation that took place in Dar il-Mistrieħ, the Government issued the tenders a few weeks ago that will be seen to continue to strengthen it and modernize the homes for the elderly in Bormla and Msida.
“This is another result of the vision that the Government has for the elderly where we are not only seeing that we invest and offer a vast number of services in the community, but we are also seeing that we offer and ensure a service of the highest level in the homes residential”, concluded Minister Abela.
Parliamentary Secretary Malcolm Paul Agius Galea expressed his satisfaction for the completion of this project. “This renovation is another step forward in strengthening the quality of life for our elderly. The modernization of Dar il-Mistrièh reflects the Government’s ongoing commitment to provide not only quality care high, but also an environment that respects the dignity and independence of every resident.”
