Minister for Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects Silvio Schembri launched nine Malta Enterprise schemes aimed to focus on particular sectors in our economy such as technological innovation, digitalisation, blue and green economy, among others.
“We have a complete ecosystem in our country to continue helping the businesses already established in our country, to help start-ups at every stage, to continue attracting more foreign direct investment in our country and to continue roaming in new economic niches that require less land to work on and provide more careers with better wages,” said Minister Silvio Schembri.
The CEO of Malta Enterprise Kurt Farrugia said, “Part of the work of Malta Enterprise is to anticipate economic trends and identify opportunities for the country. Incentives are important tools. The nine schemes we are launching are better versions to be aligned with the vision of creating an economy that creates higher quality jobs, incentivizes innovation, expands and diversifies all the businesses that operate in Malta and Gozo.”
The nine schemes that were launched today are: the Invest scheme for initial investments; the business Development grant (BD Grant); the skills development scheme (skills development scheme); the R & D schemes that include the Innovate and Exploring Research, the B Start and Startup Finance Schemes for innovative startups and the Smart and sustainable investments grant for investment that reduces the environmental impact of companies.
