The Maltese Tourism Authority will be assisting financially to restore the facade of the Parish Church of St Publius in Floriana.
Apart from the necessary interventions on the present stone, a new light will be installed to complement this facade so renowned in particular for events held every year on the Floriana Pits.
This information was announced after the signing of an agreement between the Malta Tourism Authority and the Cultural Heritage Foundation of the Archdiocese of Malta in the presence of the Minister for Tourism and Public Cleanliness Clayton Bartolo and the Mayor of this locality Vincent Borg before the pontifical mass of the festival.
The Minister for Tourism and Public Cleanliness Clayton Bartolo pointed out how this agreement means more investment in the communities, in the heritage and in our identity as Maltese and Gozitan.
“Thus we want to see that we also provide a touristic product that is more diversified, better and of higher quality in our towns and villages”, stressed Minister Bartolo.
