The Minister for Tourism and Public Cleanliness Clayton Bartolo inaugurated the restoration project of the Fishermen’s Shed in St Julians, in the presence of the Chairperson of the Malta Tourism Authority Gavin Gulia, the Deputy Chief Executive Kevin Fsadni and workers of the same Authority.
The aim of the project was to further strengthen the traditional tourist product in this area, as St Julians is very popular by tourists, as well as to safeguard the cultural heritage that this part of St Julians.
In this area, in which a large number of fishermen tow their boats, restoration work was carried out in order to improve the condition of the building of the fishermen’s shed and the adjacent boathouses and to give new life to this area.
“As a country we are committed to continuing to take care of our cultural heritage in a continuous way, as well as continuing to invest in the local tourist product. The more we invest in these types of projects, the more we raise the quality of our offer to the Maltese, the Gozitans and the tourists who visit various tourist areas in our country,” concluded Minister Clayton Bartolo.
