Discussions between Prime Minister Robert Abela and Opposition Leader Bernard Grech have led to her nomination being accepted and now that nomination has to be formally approved by Parliament.
The role of Deputy President is expected to be filled by former Nationalist MP Francis Zammit Dimech.
