The value of Gozo’s identity we must continue to nurture and strengthen with the wise use of the environment.
In Kercem, Prime Minister Robert Abela emphasized this when he visited a first-of-its-kind complex, Tuta Accomodation, which offers agritourism in Gozo.
Also in the presence of the Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri, Prime Minister Abela claimed that we must continue to push the Gozo and Malta product, all of this is included in the strategy we employ in favor of Gozo as an island of villages.
The Prime Minister Robert Abela said that as a Government we will continue to direct investment towards the protection of the Gozitan and Maltese landscape.
The Tuta complex, which also benefited from European funds, apart from offering quality accommodation, also contains a farm and offers various experiences to visitors, including walks in the countryside, fruit picking and animal therapy.
In the visit it was noted how the challenge of seasonality is one that is being addressed and this was reflected in strong results for tourism even on the island of Goztija.
While they were showing the Prime Minister around the farm, where they raise a number of animals, the management of Tuta explained to him how they are working on the concept of “farm to fork” where the visitors are given the opportunity who collect the fresh products themselves from the fields located in Agritourism so that then the food products offered come from the same complex.
“We want to continue raising the level and quality of the product we offer with authenticity,” stressed Dr. Abela, noting the beautiful example in the Tuta complex.
