On Monday afternoon, police received a report that two golden historical medals, valued around €400,000 had been stolen from a museum in Vittoriosa.
Two hours later, as a result of intensive investigations by officers, the alleged thief was arrested and the stolen items were recovered.
The man is expected to be charged in court shortly.
