The Ġurnata ma’ tal-Films event saw a turnout of over 33,000 people in Kalkara yesterday. The event organised by Screen Malta offered an engaging and educational experience for families of all ages.
One of the highlights was the Gladiator set, a testament to the exceptional skill and craftsmanship of Maltese and Gozitan workers who played a central role in its creation
The event also featured a variety of interactive stands related to the film industry and activities that celebrated the art of filmmaking
Children and adults alike had the opportunity to learn about different aspects of film production, such as special effects, stunts, costume design, and underwater filming.
Minister for Tourism and Public Cleanliness Clayton Bartolo remarked that the film industry in Malta is constantly growing. “We are committed to creating more new careers where todays and future generations experience more opportunities for better jobs. Quality work with good wages at every level that improve the lives of our people,” stressed Minister Clayton Bartolo
Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech expressed his satisfaction with the strong turnout at yesterday’s event, whereby people could see the exceptional work and creative arts within the film industry. He stated that the open day proved to be a great success whereby children, young people and families enjoyed this experience.
