More than 300 students have graduated from the Institute for Tourism Studies (ITS). The said students graduated from courses starting at Foundation level up to Master’s Degree. For the first time, this year there were a number of people who graduated in Bachelors of Science in Diving Safety Management, a unique educational course in the world that is taught only in Malta.
This ceremony at Dar il-Mediterran for Conferences, was chaired by the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo, the CEO of ITS Pierre Fenech, the Deputy Chairperson of ITS Michelle Muscat in the presence of lecturers within the same Institute, workers in the administration, graduates and distinguished guests.
In two words on the occasion, Minister Clayton Bartolo said that these students are the best ambassadors that our country can have in the world of tourism. “These graduates that we have here have the skills a key step in the hospitality industry. Apart from their skills that go beyond the culinary and administrative arts, they have the potential to be an example for anyone who will join this industry or even needs training to be able to enter it, ” stressed Minister Clayton Bartolo.
He concluded by saying that the Government is committed to continue investing in the Institute for Tourism Studies to ensure that the touristic future of our country is built on a workforce of skills among the entire spectrum of the hospitality industry.
