Prime Minister Robert Abela is in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for the United Nations meeting, COP28 which is being attended by many world leaders.
Prime Minister Robert Abela is expected to address the United Nations Summit on Saturday while today he will address a meeting organised by Malta on themes related to climate change.
In this meeting, Malta is being a pioneer in pushing an agenda with which small states around the world, like Malta, address challenges linked to climate change. This is also through an exchange of information and with an initiative that builds on what had become known as the ‘Island for Islands Initiative’. Our country also put climate security on the agenda of the Security Council of Nations, with a seat in the Council and the leadership of the Presidency of the same Council last February.
