Professor Godfrey A. Pirotta, on behalf of MEDAC, and the Ambassador of Germany in Malta, Tanja Beyer, signed an agreement to further strengthen the important work carried out by MEDAC in advancing diplomacy.
During the signing of this agreement, in the presence of the Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade Ian Borg, it was emphasised that through this agreement, we are ensuring a commitment to continue enhancing the academic relationship between Malta and Germany, whilst contributing to the development of studies on regional security in the Mediterranean, particularly in Malta.
This agreement also encourages Euro-Mediterranean academic cooperation and further expands the educational capabilities of young diplomats and research activities at MEDAC.
It was noted that this investment, being made for the project named the ‘German Chair for Peace and Conflict Studies at MEDAC’, will also serve to strengthen and expand the alumni network, while improving contacts in the political sphere and other institutions.
