Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri visited the works carried out in Triq l’Imgħalem, Rabat, after this road with a length of 450 meters was rebuilt and tarmac was given with an investment of almost a million euros.
Minister Camilleri said that “Triq l’Imglem has been rebuilt and is now complete after being given a second coat of tarmak.” It is now our turn to start the new junction between Triq il-Imgħalem, Triq ta Wara s-Sur and Triq Wied Sara in order to eliminate once and for all the bottleneck that stagnates traffic in this part of Victoria.”
He went on to explain that the works on this road also included new sidewalks and improvements to the parking spaces, bus bays and the traffic system in general. In addition, new retaining walls and rubble walls were also built, new infrastructure was made including new water pipes, a new drainage system and telecommunications pipes and sidewalk lighting services.
Two pipes were also built to collect and deliver rainwater from all the roads from the Cittadella and from Gholja da Gelmus and through new culverts they also lead to Wied tal Grazzja from where the water can is used by farmers. The work in Triq l’Imgħalen was all done in a scheduled area and was constantly supervised by archaeologists with the approval of the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage (SCH).
The Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri concluded by saying that the infrastructural work within the Ministry for Gozo will continue in order to continue to improve the level of infrastructure throughout Gozo.
