The Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri announced that after the success of last year’s activity Sempre Vivo – Always Alive, this year it will be staged again in Pjazza Vittorja, Xagħra, on the 11 of next August.
This unique concert with a noble purpose, organized by the “Karus l’Aħmar”, was held to remember the memory of an individual who died of cancer and with the aim of raising money for Puttinu Cares to continue help those going through health problems and their families.
Minister Clint Camilleri said that, “After the success of this concert last year, so much that €36,000 was collected in aid of Puttinu Cares, this year its second edition will be staged. This activity not only touched the hearts of many but showed the strength of unity and the generosity of the Gozitan and Maltese people. Therefore I encourage everyone to attend the Sempre Vivo concert on August 11 so that as a community we can support, remember and celebrate life through music.”
This year’s concert will be a memorable one where different genres of music will be played including rock, pop, Gregorian and even music of praise to God. There will also be a live orchestra and band accompanied by several established and new singers. For this year there will also be a children’s choir for the first time. The organizers encouraged everyone to attend in order to continue helping Puttinu Cares. Jessica Rae Bonello on behalf of “Karus l’Aħmar” said that “the activity is free of charge but all the donations given go to Putin who is helping so many people and families affected by cancer. Everyone who attends this concert will be contributing and above all giving their support and the hope that all those who are going through a difficult time due to health problems.”
The Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri concluded by saying that the Ministry for Gozo, through the Directorate for Cultural Heritage, committed to continue helping activities with a noble goal that leave a positive impact on society.
