During today’s session of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Malta, the Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade Ian Borg presented and submitted for approval the renewal of the bilateral programme between Malta and NATO.
After the presentation given by Minister Ian Borg, where the Committee was given the legal assurances requested that the proposals submitted do not go against any clause in the Constitution of Malta, the Parliamentary Committee unanimously approved the renewal of the bilateral programme, as well as Malta’s participation in the planning and review process under the scope of NATO’s Partnership for Peace.
Following the session, the Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade Ian Borg welcomed the agreement between the Government and the Opposition regarding the bilateral programme, as presented to the Committee, and noted that he is looking forward to seeing the Disciplinary Forces and other Government entities making better use of the bilateral programme with NATO, always within the parameters of the Constitution of the Republic of Malta.
