Cinema City, the annual open-air film screening event, will return between 5 and 10 June 2023 at Laparelli Gardens, Valletta. This was announced by the Minister for National Heritage, Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici when he was launching this event which is organized by the Cultural Agency for Valletta.
“This event builds on our commitment to celebrate culture in its various genres and continue to support artists and, in this case, the film industry. Committed to continue expanding the cultural activities in the Capital City and in the various places in our country,” repeated Minister Bonnici.
The Chairman of the Cultural Agency for Valletta Jason Micallef said that the Agency is committed to continue with the economic, social and cultural regeneration of Valletta. He continued that Cinema City, which is a celebration of open-air film screenings, including Maltese productions, continues to build on the success of the Valletta Green Festival that took place a few days ago.
This year’s edition of Cinema City includes various themes that were chosen by volunteers, where they were asked to watch a number of films that fall under different genres and from which the six films that will be shown were selected. The audience can enjoy this screening of films in the open air, free of charge.
