Fox News and parent company Fox Corp have agreed to pay a $787.5m (£633m) settlement with voting machine company Dominion, thus avoiding a high-profile defamation trial.
Dominion sells electronic voting technology and was suing Fox News and its parent company Fox Corp for defamation.
Dominion said Fox had repeatedly aired allegations made by allies of Donald Trump that the voting software had flipped votes to Joe Biden.
The settlement is less than half the $1.6bn that Dominion was suing for but one of their lawyers said outside the courthouse, “The truth matters, lies have consequences.”
