The Malta International Fireworks Festival will be staged again in our country, which will see its beginning on Monday 24 April and reach its climax on the eve of 1 May in Grand Harbour.
Over a period of seven days, the general public will have the opportunity to see aerial and ground fire from Nadur, Mellieħa, San Pawl il Baħar, Naxxar, Manoel Island, Floriana and the Great Port. In this same period, Malta is also expected to host 700 foreign participants for this pyrotechnic festival, as well as 100 exhibitors for the International Symposium of Fireworks.
These details were announced in a news conference by the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo in the presence of the Chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority Gavin Gulia.
Minister Clayton Bartolo stressed that there is a positive expectation for this international event. He went on to say that, “Our country’s reputation in the pyrotechnics world is a strong and well-known one. We want to continue to share this same story with the Maltese and the Gowis as well as with the tourists who come to visit us. We are therefore determined to continue offering high-profile events for people of all ages.”
Minister Bartolo concluded by saying that a festival of this international caliber is confirmation of the Government’s commitment to continue placing the tourism sector among the main contributors to the Maltese economy.
Chairman Gavin Gulia said that this festival is an event that has become an integral part of the calendar of activities that are organized throughout the year. “Through this Festival we will be able to attract international Fireworks associations to compete in Malta. We are sure that this international festival will attract a number of tourists and a local audience who will attend to enjoy this wonderful show around the Maltese and Gozitan islands,” concluded Chairman Gavin Gulia.
