In order to address the traffic challenges that we face, particularly during the rush hour, the government is working to identify best practices to define the benefits, obstacles, and solutions.
This was said during a meeting between the Ministry for Transport and the Malta Chamber of SMEs, in which a broad discussion was held on these themes
During this meeting, Malta Chamber of SMEs CEO Ms Abigail Agius Mamo said that traffic impacts all its members, and therefore welcomes the wide consultation with the clear intention of improving the situation. The Chamber of SMEs acknowledged that everyone needs to shoulder the responsibility and the private sector is an important stakeholder in this matter. The SME Chamber thus commits to participating and contributing fully to the process.
“Together with the Malta Chamber of SMEs and their partners we discussed the proposals we are putting forward; there is the support and there are the ideas, and I look forward to finalising and implementing them,” stated Minister Farrugia. He reiterated that these meetings, entitled ‘Decision with direction: dialogue on transport and mobility’ led by consultant and academic Prof. Gordon Sammut, are expected to bear fruit, as all stakeholders are being involved in the discussions.
