Minister for the Economy, European Funds and Lands Silvio Schembri has appointed Dr Ingrid Fenech as the new Official Receiver, in line with Article 9 of the Malta Business Registry Order, for the purposes of the Companies Act.
Her appointment comes into effect by no later than the 26th of April 2023. Until then, the minister is appointing Dr Geraldine Spiteri Lucas, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Malta Business Registry, as Interim Official Receiver.
Dr Fenech replaces the present Official Receiver Dr Kevan Azzopardi, who has been recently nominated for the post of Magistrate. In her role within the Malta Business Registry, she will be also heading the Insolvency and Receivership Service Unit.
Dr Fenech is a lawyer with over 12 years’ experience, particularly in shipping and aviation. Presently, she is a Senior Associate with one of Malta’s leading law firms and holds vast experience in asset financing, contract negotiations and conflict resolution.
The ministry would like to thank Dr Azzopardi for his work in the past years, and congratulates Dr Fenech on her appointment.
