Prime Minister Robert Abela had a courtesy meeting from the Nippon Foundation led by Chairman Dr. Yohei Sasakawa

Founded in Japan more than sixty years ago, this foundation promotes social initiatives in favor of food security, education and health and speaks actively on issues related to the marine environment.

In fact, the Nippon Foundation works very closely with the International Maritime Organization (IMO), an agency of the United Nations. Prime Minister Robert Abela thanked the Nippon Foundation for the full collaboration with the IMO, under whose auspices the International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI), which has a center in our country, works.

The Prime Minister recognized common interests that Malta and this Japanese foundation have, including the blue economy. The Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects, Aaron Farrugia and the Permanent Secretary within the same Ministry, Godwin Mifsud, were also present at the meetin
