Police together with the Armed Forces of Malta, carried out checks of the traffic in various localities around Malta and Gozo on Christmas Eve.
Approximately 560 vehicles were stopped, with officers checking for offenses such as driving without insurance, licence or not wearing seatbelts. Checks were also carried out for drink driving.
Authorities have not said if any drivers were booked for offences.
