Four people have been arrested in connection with organised crime involving drug trafficking and money laundering.
Police operations began on Tuesday morning when officers stopped a car in Msida. Officers had been following the car from Pieta and when they stopped it, they found 120 capsules of what they believed to be cocaine and a knuck-duster.
Officers then searched a shop in Triq Nicolò Isourd, Marsa which belonged to the man they arrested in Msida. There they found 1.2kg of cocaine, with a street value of €95,000.
At the same time as these arrests were made, officers arrested two other men at a house in Pieta. Cocaine, a weighing scale, a pistol, ammunition and a number of mobiles together with €15,000 in cash, designer clothes and jewellery were seized from the property in Triq id-Duluri.
The four men are being held at the Floriana lock-up while police investigations continue.
