Work is underway on the Dementia Garden at San Vincenzo Hospital

The residents of San Vincenzo Hospital will be able to enjoy a Dementia Garden which is currently being worked on with an investment of €750,000.

During a visit made by the Minister for Active Aging Jo Etienne Abela, it was noted how this is another project among a series that not only provides the best medical care that the residents need but also addresses their needs.

The Minister explained that the concept of a dementia-friendly garden is innovative and the first of its kind in Malta.

This garden will be covering 3,000 square meters and will offer a space where people with dementia can spend time in an adequate environment for them.

It will also be possible to carry out different activities, both in groups and on an individual level.

The garden will not only offer a better environment to residents with dementia but also to the general public.

The works include, among others, new paving, new outdoor furniture and installation of fountains.
